FDA Issues Nationwide Recall of Popular Healthy Snack Over Major Health Risk originally appeared on Men's Fitness. You'd expect a healthy snack like dried fruit to be a safe choice—until it ends up on a recall list for potential Listeria contamination. Doehler Dry Ingredient Solutions, LLC has issued a voluntary recall of its Member's Mark Freeze Dried Fruit Variety Pack 15-count snacks due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The affected products were sold at Sam's Club stores between July 1 and July 25, 2025, according to the recall notice. Each box contains individually packaged fruit in foil pouches, and lot numbers with expiration dates ranging from June 24 to July 25, 2027, are printed on the bottom of the case. The recalled items were shipped to distribution centers across 44 U.S. states and Puerto Rico. Products were distributed to Sam's Club locations in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Consumers in possession of the affected fruit packs should not eat the product. Instead, discard it immediately or return it to any Sam's Club location for a full refund. Think You Know Costco? Here's 1 Little-Known Fact You Can't Overlook.

Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ: COST) limits access to its stores to people who have paid a membership fee. This is a huge dynamic shift in retail, but the depth of the change this has on the business may be bigger than you think. Here's one little-known fact you can't overlook with Costco. Costco is a club store Club stores aren't unique. Costco competes with others in the space, including Walmart 's Sam's Club division. But overall, club stores are a niche of the broader retail sector. The big difference between a regular retailer and a club store like Costco is the membership fee that customers pay for the privilege of shopping at a Costco or any of its direct competitors. This is not a small difference. In fact, it is gigantic. For investors, one of the most important metrics to watch with Costco is its membership renewal rate, which generally hovers around 90%. That makes the membership fees an annuity-like income stream. If you look at the company's top line, however, you might think that this isn't a big deal. In the fiscal third quarter of 2025, Costco generated total revenue of roughly $63.2 billion. The vast majority of that came from product sales, with only around $1.2 billion, or less than 2%, derived from membership fees. Digging into the details with Costco's costs From a big-picture perspective, then, Costco's membership fees are barely a rounding error. But that's not the whole story. Membership fees don't really have any costs associated with them, while product sales do. For example, the cost of the merchandise it sold in the fiscal third quarter of 2025 was just shy of $55 billion. Then there were the costs of operating the company's stores. Sales, general, and administrative costs came in at roughly $5.7 billion in the quarter. The gross profit here was just about $2.5 billion, with almost all of the costs coming from the products themselves and the cost of operating stores. This is where things start to get interesting. If membership fees have little cost associated with them, then fee income basically drops right down into gross profit. Since the gross profit was around $2.5 billion and the membership fees tallied up to $1.2 billion, these fees accounted for around half of Costco's gross profit. And that income, assuming the company can keep its membership renewal rate high, is an incredibly valuable annuity-like income stream. Membership fees and the model shift that really matters Costco's membership fees give it the leeway to accept lower margins on the products it sells. That helps keep customers happy. The company has long focused on having strong relations with its employees, too, with the goal of assuring high customer service. And that speaks to the little-known fact hidden right in plain sight here. Costco's business isn't really about selling products to customers, it's about keeping its customers happy so they keep renewing their memberships. Vizio TVs will now be sold exclusively at Walmart — but they'll have a new name

Vizio TVs are in line to become a private-label brand on Walmart store shelves by year's end, which means they'll exclusively be sold out of the retailer's two mega storefronts, including Walmart and Sam's Club. Bloomberg broke the news late last week after reviewing an internal company memo. Walmart will fold Vizio into its assortment of 90 other store brands, though it's unclear if it will be renamed onn, Walmart's already existing TV brand. Vizio's move into the private-label sector is in accordance with Walmart's $2.3B acquisition of the TV maker, officially sealed in December of last year. Cheap(er) Walmart TVs on the horizon It's no secret that some of the best Vizio TVs are also some of the best budget TVs on the market, and they're bound to get even cheaper as a Walmart private-label brand. Bloomberg's reporting provides no indication of pricing or the expected rollout date, except for a late 2025 timeframe. Various models, like the Vizio Quantum Pro and Vizio V-Series sets, are available to purchase at alternative retailers outside of Walmart, including Target and Amazon. But it's not just the physical TVs themselves that Walmart is after. Where other TV makers, like Hisense, TCL, and Sony, rely on Google TV or Roku OS, Vizio is a unicorn. It makes and runs its own TV interface, called Smartcast, which Walmart bet $2.3B on in its push into the TV shopping experience. So, while Walmart moves Vizio into a private-label brand, Vizio's Smartcast, which is already being integrated onto existing Walmart onn displays, will be the beating heart of the buyout's success. Increased advertising and shoppable TV experiences, wherein consumers purchase goods straight from their displays, will be the real breadwinners for Walmart. More ads and in-your-face shopping experiences might not be the most exciting turn of events, but at least this will inevitably lead to the advent of cheaper TVs from Walmart. Onn TVs, while some of the worst displays on the market, can cost as much as $90 to $300. With Vizio's performance gains, they'll be worth considering.
